WOLF (Wenman)
Wolf, is one of the most isolated islands in the Galapagos. Both Wolf and Darwin are the remains of an extinct volcano whose peaks emerge from the ocean. This island is visited mostly by diving cruises. There is no land visitor site. El Derrumbe is the only marine visitor site, suited for master divers and is known for its rich marine life. Different types of whales, hammerheads, and sharks can be seen in this location. The famous whale shark can also be observed here between the months of June and December.
The most famous resident on land is the vampire finch. Due to the dry weather of the island, this bird has adapted its diet. Learning to survive by drinking the blood from the Nazca and red-footed boobies that nest on the cliffs of this island.
